The ladies went to Pebble Beach on Wednesday, April 7. It was the closing Crystals competition followed by a delicious lunch organized and cooked by Kim Cunningham and her merry band of helpers. The greens entertained us after lunch with a great song and dance routine, and Helen Hasegawa in her plus fours was voted the best dressed curler/golfer. The winners of the Crystals competition were (left to right) Sandra Holland, Julie Condy, Helen Hasegawa, and Bev Kranitz. That's all the curling for this year. Our closing bonspiel will be held on April 7, 2010 with the theme "Pebble Beach'' followed by lunch,

and on April 14th at 11 a.m our Annual General meeting, a very important one this year which all ladies are urged to attend. - Barbara Sauvé

The Club trophy finals were played on Thursday, February 25 and the winners were: (left to right) Eleanor Metcalfe, Louise Matulis, Rosemarie Deverteuil and Barbara Marcolin. The runners up were: Joan Macnab, Millie Pope, Leesa Smith and Nancy Erickson. - Kathleen

The doubles finals took place on February 26 with the team of Kathleen Wilson (on the left) and Barbara Francis defeating Susan Porteous and Helen Forest. Congratulations to everyone. - Barbara

The senior doubles was a real cliff hanger, with Sharon Flaherty (left) and Martha Guerriero needing an extra end to win over Ginette Greensides and Shirley Dobson.

BLACK TROPHY

The first competitive draw of the season has been completed. The games were played Wednesdays throughout October and into the beginning of November . Ten teams participated in this draw.

The finals were played on November 5th and there were many spectators on hand to see a very exciting, and close game played to the very last rock! The spectators were glued to their seats for this one......

The Pointe Claire Ladies’ Curling Club Semi-Annual Meeting was held on October 27, 2009.

As usual, the meeting was well attended, and very informative. Beginning with our President, Ann Howard, each member of the Executive, in turn, read out their reports.

After the meeting, refreshments were served in the upstairs lounge. Special thanks to Jane Bronstetter for providing the delicious food. There were rave reviews on everything served, and many of the ladies insisted on going home with the recipes!

Welcome to the 2009-2010 curling season! The first curling event has taken place. On Wednesday, October 7th, 2009, the season opening Crystals Bonspiel was held at the club. Not only was this year's theme "Pajama Party" very well. attended, but it also brought out the creative side of many of the ladies in the 'costume' department! Thank you and, well done ladies. President Ann Howard welcomed everyone and especially welcomed our new members, some of whom were in attendance. The draw winners were each presented with a Crystal Pointe Claire Curling Club wine glass...
The event began with two 6 end draws and ended with a delicious Italian themed luncheon, during which the ladies were treated to a very interesting story of Little Red Riding Hood, read by Irene Parsons.

Congratulations to all of you. What a nice way to begin your season! Thank you to the Organizing Committee: Kim Cunningham, Jane Bronstetter, Fabienne Boudreau and everyone involved in making our first event a great success. Our chef Catherine is back this year to the delight of everyone. The Black Trophy draw begins on Wednesday, October 14th and the Windmill Competition begins on Monday, October 19th, 2009. Welcome back curlers............................... Let`s have fun!
